申25:1 人若有爭訟、來聽審判、審判官就要定義人有理、定惡人有罪。
If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.
申25:2 惡人若該受責打、審判官就要叫他當面伏在地上、按著他的罪照數責打。
And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number.
申25:3 只可打他四十下、不可過數、若過數、便是輕賤你的弟兄了。
Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee.
申25:4 牛在場上踹穀的時候、不可籠住他的嘴。
Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn.
申25:5 弟兄同居、若死了一個沒有兒子、死人的妻不可出嫁外人、他丈夫的兄弟當盡弟兄的本分娶他為妻、與他同房。
If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her.
申25:6 婦人生的長子必歸死兄的名下、免得他的名在以色列中塗抹了。
And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.
申25:7 那人若不願意娶他哥哥的妻、他哥哥的妻就要到城門長老那裡說、我丈夫的兄弟不肯在以色列中興起他哥哥的名字、不給我盡弟兄的本分。
And if the man like not to take his brother's wife, then let his brother's wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband's brother.
申25:8 本城的長老就要召那人來問他、他若執意說、我不願意娶他．
Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him: and if he stand to it, and say, I like not to take her;
申25:9 他哥哥的妻就要當著長老到那人的跟前、脫了他的鞋、吐唾沫在他臉上、說、凡不為哥哥建立家室的、都要這樣待他。
Then shall his brother's wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother's house.
申25:10 在以色列中、他的名必稱為脫鞋之家。
And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that hath his shoe loosed.
申25:11 若有二人爭鬥、這人的妻近前來、要救他丈夫脫離那打他丈夫之人的手、抓住那人的下體．
When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets:
申25:12 就要砍斷婦人的手、眼不可顧惜他。
Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.
申25:13 你囊中不可有一大一小、兩樣的法碼。
Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small.
申25:14 你家裡不可有一大一小、兩樣的升斗。
Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small.
申25:15 當用對準公平的法碼、公平的升斗、這樣、在耶和華你 神所賜你的地上、你的日子就可以長久。
But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
申25:16 因為行非義之事的人、都是耶和華你 神所憎惡的。
For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the Lord thy God.
申25:17 你要記念你們出埃及的時候、亞瑪力人在路上怎樣待你。
Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt;
申25:18 他們在路上遇見你、趁你疲乏困倦、擊殺你儘後邊軟弱的人、並不敬畏 神。
How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God.
申25:19 所以耶和華你 神使你不被四圍一切的仇敵擾亂、在耶和華你 神賜你為業的地上、得享平安、那時你要將亞瑪力的名號、從天下塗抹了．不可忘記。
Therefore it shall be, when the Lord thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.
